Summarizing Your Research
You have just completed extensive research of job/career information by:
  • reviewing print media,
  • reviewing electronic media,
  • interviews with professionals in the industry.

These sources should have given you valuable information about you career area and helped you narrow your selection.  Some options should now look better to you, and others less attractive.  If you are still undecided, go back and repeat some of the information gathering steps until you find the one that looks best to you.

After you have completed the industry research, turn to Career Action Sheet CAS 3.3 and make summary notes about the information you have just gathered.  This step is important as it helps you evaluate the information you have just gathered.

The final step in this exercise is to prepare an short essay.  The theme of this essay is to be "How I am Going to be Successful in the industry."   This essay should be done professionally on a word processor.

When you have finished with this section of the career research, assemble all of your research into one presentation.

  • Prepare a cover sheet with:
    • Career Project, Chapter 3 - Career Research
    • Your name
    • The date submitted
  • Second insert CAS 3.1 sheets completed
  • Third insert four CAS 3.2 sheets completed
  • Fourth insert CAS 3.3 sheets (your summary)
.
When you have completed the summary writing you can continue with the next exercise Chapter 4 Index,  or take a break at this time.
