Chapter 2
Self-Assessment for Career Planning

Summarizing Your Self-Assessment

.

Summary
Exercise
You have just completed five exercises of self-assessment, that should have given you a better picture if who you are and what is important to you. It is now time to summarize what you have learned.  Either with pencil and paper or on the computer summarize what you have learned about yourself from each exercise and how this aspect of your personality will relate to your career dream.  Use the summary-form provided with this chapter. After completing the summary for each of these exercises, write a final paragraph or two about your observations and conclusions about this profile.  How do you think this total profile will assist you in achieving your dream?  What are the strengths and what areas do you need development.
.
This summary completes the self-assessment section of this module.  If you want to know more about yourself there are numerous books on this subject found in the self-help section of book stores and libraries.  There are also hundreds of these inventories available on the internet.  Just be sure that they are reputable!  Time to move on to the next chapter in this module, "Gathering Industry Information."
